Introduction

These privacy policies are intended to tell you what information we collect and for what reason. They are written to comply with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 (GDPR, in force May 25, 2018), and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

This Privacy Policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘personally identifiable information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as used in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our Privacy Policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect, or otherwise handle your personally identifiable information in accordance with our website.

What Personal Information Do We Collect From The People That Visit Our Website?

When registering on our Site, as appropriate, you will be asked to enter your email address or other details to aid in identifying your account.

We collect information from you when you register on our Site, sign up for the mailing list, or enter information on our Site.

How Do We Use Your Information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

  • To allow us to better service you regarding features or in responding to your support requests.
  • To send periodic emails regarding your account, the launch of the chronicle, or other related services.
  • To understand how the Site is used in aggregate, so we can improve it.

Some of our providers have access to certain information for their services:

  • MailerLite— receives your email address when you sign up for the mailing list, used to deliver the chronicle's opening notice and any future community dispatches you opt into.
  • Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager — receive anonymised behavioural data (page views, navigation events, language preference, scroll depth) to help us understand how the Site is used.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — receives anonymised page-view and sign-up events for measurement of any future campaigns we may run on Meta platforms. Email addresses are not transmitted to Meta.
  • Hostinger — our hosting provider, receives standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and operational purposes.

The Prius Anima team is the sole owner of the above data and only qualified members of the team can see it. The Prius Anima team consults this information solely for in-game support, technical assistance, and community communication. A user's information is destroyed after 3 years of inactivity.

How Do We Protect Visitor Information?

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our Site as safe as possible. Information stored on the website is encrypted using industry-standard algorithms.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Transport Layer Security (TLS).

We implement a variety of security measures when a user registers an account, submits, or accesses their information, using features to maintain the safety of your personal information.

All transactions, if any, are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Do We Use 'Cookies'?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognise your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us automatically remember you for your next visit. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information.

Third-Party Links

We do not include or offer third-party products or services on our website beyond links to our community spaces (Discord, Facebook). Use of those services is governed by their respective terms.

According to CalOPPA We Agree to the Following:

  • Users can visit our Site anonymously.
  • Once this Privacy Policy is created, we will add a link to it on our home page, or as a minimum on the first significant page after entering our website.
  • Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’ and can be easily found on the page specified above.

Users will be notified of any privacy policy changes:

  • On our Privacy Policy page

Users are able to change their personal information:

  • By logging into their account (when accounts launch)
  • By contacting us at the address below

How Does Our Site Handle Do Not Track Signals?

We honor Do Not Track signals and do not track, plant cookies, or use advertising when a Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism is in place.

Does Our Site Allow Third-Party Behavioral Tracking?

We do not allow third-party behavioral tracking beyond the analytics and pixel providers listed above, which are configured for measurement only and do not build cross-site behavioral profiles.

What Are My Rights in Regards to the Processing of My Personal Data?

You have the right to the following:

  • Right to access all your data and to download a copy of all of your data
  • Right to delete all of your data
  • Right to write a complaint to a supervisory body that is dealing with personal data protection

You may choose at any time to disable your account in the user panel (when accounts launch), in which case the information will be destroyed after a period of 14 days. This deactivation is canceled if the account is being used during this time. You have the right to delete your data at any time.

Retention of Data for System Integrity and Security

In accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we retain certain personal data of banned users under the legal basis of legitimate interests. This retention is necessary to maintain the integrity and security of our systems, enforce our Terms of Service, and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity.

The data retained may include the username, email address, and IP address. Usernames are retained to enforce bans across platforms, email addresses to prevent duplicate or fraudulent account creation, and IP addresses to detect and block malicious activity or unauthorized access.

This data will not be used for marketing or other unrelated purposes and will be securely deleted after 3 years, unless required to be retained longer for legal compliance or litigation. Anonymized data may be kept for statistical, security, or operational purposes.
