Zerum
SteelOrder
Siege-like melee and area attacks, a defense buff, Demoralize, and Desperation.
Call a giant through the bond of souls
Follow the Gigas milestones from Zerum to class-aligned giants and upgraded forms, then manage Echo and affinity in battle.
Progression spine
Gigas come in three stages. A level 30 Lava Cave quest grants Zerum. At level 45, each race and class family receives a second Gigas. At level 55, the Curse Wedge sequence grants upgraded forms.
Anima transformation is enabled at level 10, but that does not give you a Gigas. You still need the acquisition quest and its reward model.
First acquisition
Two mutually exclusive quest versions lead to the same reward. The first can begin from level 28 after its preceding story quest. The alternate Rytius route begins at level 30 after its own prior quest. Both award base Zerum.
Follow either Constance's progression or the alternate Rytius progression. Do not wait for both versions because they exclude one another.
Repair gear, bring recovery items, and leave room for quest rewards. You earn Zerum by finishing this quest. Reaching level 30 alone does not grant it.
Complete the marked confrontation in Lava Cave and return through the active quest chain.
The reward is Zerum, your first Gigas.
Class-aligned giant
These quests require the shared prior story completion and are handled through the Anima route. Your class family decides the Gigas reward.
| Class family | Quest | Reward | Identity and role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hume, Occultist or Gunslinger | Giant of Will | Atlata | Rock and will, area magic and party magic support |
| Berserker | Giant of Earth | Ethernus | Earth and protection, taunt and defense |
| Huntress | Giant of Obstinacy | Petram | Insect and tenacity, poison and control |
| Legionnaire or Shadow Templar | Giant of Darkness | Vespertillion | Bat and darkness, magic damage and lock effects |
| Minstrel | Giant of Peace | Altimor | Tree and peace, area damage with party healing |
The level 45 reward adds the class-aligned option. It does not replace the purpose of the earlier Zerum acquisition.
Curse Wedge progression
After [55] Gigas Awakening - Crisis of Bestial Inferno!?, take [55+] Eradicate the Curse Wedge of Seven Moons. Every class receives this same quest title, but which version you get depends on your class. Each reward supplies upgraded Zerum plus the advanced model of the level 45 class Gigas.
