Turn a wild bond into a traveling companion
Find, tame, register, ridePero Mounts
Complete the level 20 lesson, recognize a tameable Beastia, convert its Crystal of Being, and maintain your registered Pero.
How a Pero is made
Taming is only the first half
A successful tame produces the creature's Crystal of Being. Combine that crystal with the matching Grindstone of Soul to create its summon item, then use the summon item to register the Pero in your collection.
The level 20 lesson explicitly says tameable Pero have a special pattern on their nameplate. A creature sharing the same name is not enough if that tameable marker is absent.
Level 20 quest chain
Learn Taming from Drill Master Amaryllis
- [20] Taming
In Anima Mode, take the lead from Gardener Cepa and meet Drill Master Amaryllis. Keep your Anima present for the lesson.
- [20] Beastia Taming
Accept the ten-minute test and tame the Wandering Onion. Follow the quest marker, weaken the target without killing it, then have your Anima perform the tame.
- [20] Perfero Taming
Learn the permanent field process. Amaryllis explains the tameable nameplate pattern, the Crystal of Being, the matching Grindstone of Soul, and Perfero sightings in the Forest of Phantasms.
Field procedure
A safe taming attempt
- Confirm the target is tameable
Check the special nameplate pattern. Do not rely only on a species name from a list.
- Clear nearby enemies
Taming takes attention and can fail. Remove extra threats before weakening the target.
- Lower health carefully
Use controlled attacks and stop before the creature dies. Dismiss damage-over-time effects or helpers if they may finish it.
- Move close to the target
Enter Anima Mode with F11 and issue the Taming action to the weakened target.
- Collect the Crystal of Being
Success provides the creature-specific crystal. Failure can change Anima activity and means another attempt is needed.
- Combine and register
Use the matching Grindstone of Soul with the crystal, create the summon item, then use that item to add the Pero to your collection.
The crafted result is used to register the mount. After registration, use the Pero collection interface for the actual travel companion.
Confirmed spawn locations
Seven confirmed spawn regions
| Pero | Where to find it | Food |
|---|---|---|
| Lanna | Ayon 2nd Field | Meat |
| Ensis | Lon Mas 2nd Field | Meat |
| Perfero | Beriah 2nd Field, Forest of Phantasms | Mixed |
| Larua | Valley of Fury | Meat |
| Jubata | Valley of Fury | Meat |
| Cerva | Garden of Twilight | Grass |
| Armentum | Garden of Twilight | Mixed |
Quest dialogue also mentions Ensis and Lanna occasionally appearing in Phantasm Dungeon. Treat that as an occasional bonus, and rely on their spawn regions above first.
Feeding
Feed while mounted
Carry food that matches the Pero's Meat, Grass, or Mixed category. While mounted, right-click the food to apply it. Food wears off after a while, so feed again when it does.
The tutorial describes a well-fed Pero as developing faster and becoming stronger. Refresh food intentionally instead of consuming a large stock without checking the active state.
Fatigue and damage
Watch the mount state
Tiredness builds while you ride.
- Dismount before a dangerous stop.
- Carry the correct food type.
- Do not assume a rare mount ignores fatigue.
